How do nail technicians take off acrylic nails?

do they have u soak them in acetone? do they sand them off? what do they do/?

when i got my nails done, i asked him, so how will i take them off, he said come back and for 10 bucks i can sand them off. .....is this just a way to get me to pay more money? or do they really sand them off?How do nail technicians take off acrylic nails?
Good ones never pry them off, or sand them off. They do soak them in acetone and push/roll off the softened acrylic, and file what remains. Sanding acrylic nails off completely would cause overfiling damage to your nail beds that would be extremely painfull the next day.How do nail technicians take off acrylic nails?
They usually soak them in acetone dishes that are placed in warm water, and they will periodically take your hands out to sand away the disintegrating acrylic (with a special nail tool), and then place them back in the acetone to soak more... they keep repeating this about 3-4 times until all the acrylic is off your nails.

Then they usually buff them and wash them, and put some nail protectant on them to finish.
If you don't want to spend the money, you can actually do it yourself, it will just be more time consuming... Use high acetone nail polish remover and a good nail file. if you soak for long enough, sometimes they become soft enough to pull off without causing any pain. That's how I do it anyways. It's worth a try and if it doesn't work - get the pro's to do it!
They soak your nails in Acetone for 15-20 minutes(sometimes longer.), Then take a Orangewood stick, and push at the Softened nail.

UV Gel nails are the ones you have to file down(Not sand.) layer by layer.

Don't every pry them them...They'll ruin your nails even more.
yea they do but its usually free first you put your nails in acetone to soften them and then they sand them off with the nail shaper ...i does not hurt so dont worry and it should be free if you get your nails redone
usually they soak them in acetone.. of course acetone is not good for your nails (they pretty much melt the fake nails off) but then fake nails aren't good for your nails either.
they usually pry them off. unless they're really new...
