My fingernails r broken, split, n cracked. Should I do what a nail technician says?

I saw a nail technician %26amp; got a manicure last week to see if they knew what I should do about my stupid-looking fingernails. The technician says I should let her apply a layer of acrylic coating to each fingernail. She says it'll look just like healthy, natural nails and that she could keep them looking good (without being the least bit shiny) if I came back every few weeks.

OMG! What! Suspicion makes me worry about being scammed.

I just want to have ordinary, average looking hands.

Should I trust what she says?

Does this seem ok to anyone who knows about this stuff?

Will it look ';just like natural'; the way she says?

What's the good n bad in this whole thing?

I'm otherwise good in my health. So it's not a diet thing. My doc says I've just got the hands I've got.My fingernails r broken, split, n cracked. Should I do what a nail technician says?
She could be just wanting you as a client, but It will most likely help them. Acrylic is just a clear coating on the top of the nail. It is used to make the nail stronger. When People talk about acrylic nails. The ones you think are ';fake looking'; they also get white tips attached underneath the acrylic.

If you are willing to pay the price then It will probably make them feel better.

My best advice is to go in and try it once. If you like it then continue with it if not, go to another manicurist and ask her to take it off. You have to soak your fingers in acetone for the acrylic to come off without further hurting your nail. but a manicurist should be able to do this very easily.

Good LuckMy fingernails r broken, split, n cracked. Should I do what a nail technician says?

Any Nail Technicians in Nova Scotia and Ontario???

My wife is doing Nail in the USA now,but we're going to immigrate to Canada soon and would like to know is it easy to find a Nail Technician jobs in or around Halifax,NS,Ottawa,On OR around Toronto areas?Which city do you think is best and easy to make money as a Nail Technician,in terms of Ottawa is colder than Halifax and around Toronto areas, does it effect the Nail Businesses at all in terms of the cold weather???Thanks for your help.Any Nail Technicians in Nova Scotia and Ontario???
Should improve business since the cold will make the nails brittle. Any of those cities have customers and beauty salons offer the service, so if your wife doesn't want to establish her own business, then she can probably get on with a salon.

I'm not sure which of the three cities is colder. Toronto is a humid cold since the lake is open all year (and it is huge). Ottawa meanwhile gets a fair bit of wind and Halifax has the open ocean to provide humidity resulting in significant snowfalls at times. Welcome to Canada. If you don't like the weather, just wait 5 minutes.

  • Nail technicians out there! Problem with acrylic.?

Hi. I have a technician that does my nails at home. I like her designs very much and the first set of nails was wonderful. Unfortunately, just after taking a shower before bed time, I noticed that the acrylic was lifting at the nail bed. She did do some buffing and applied primer. This never happend to me before when serviced by other technicians. I'm wondering if she's doing something wrong or if the acrylic she's using is poor quality. I don't no what brand it is.

I'd like recommendations on best brands of acrylic and any other suggestions. I've thought of buying my own product and ask her to use it instead. Thanks!Nail technicians out there! Problem with acrylic.?
There can be a few reasons why they are lifting...product too thick, too close to the cuticle, or she my have not prepped the nail bed properly for the application of the acrylic. More than likely it's not the product it's the nail tech. I've been using the same brand for 10 yrs Creative nail...and no problems You might want to find a new nail techNail technicians out there! Problem with acrylic.?
creative nail design is the best, imho. lifting can happen for several reasons. nothing to stress about. just make sure you take the nails off completely after about 6 weeks and make sure you have no fungus.
It has to do with her technique and not properly prepping the nail.

    Advice from nail technicians? x?

I'm very interested in nails, and am thinking about enrolling on a course for next year. I was just wondering, when acrylic nails are done in a nail salon, can anyone give me the step-by-step procedure used and what type of products, as I would like to practice at home. Also, how long does it take to qualify?

thank-you xAdvice from nail technicians? x?
you can buy sets with the nails and the acrylic liquid and the powder from big stores, like target and kmart

go and get your nails done one time and its easy to watch and learn how to do it

    a quick description ?

clean hands, files the nails and make them even, glue the tips on and put primer on the nails, then apply the acrylic using a brush and then once dry buff it down smooth and then appy gel on top or a clear nailpolish
